Adjustable Panel System

One of the most powerful features of the Iluvana CMS dashboard is its flexible panel system. You can customize the width of each panel to create a workspace that matches your preferred workflow and screen size.

Flexible Workspace The three-panel layout can be adjusted to give more space to the areas you use most, whether that's navigation, content editing, or detailed settings.

Resizing Panels

Between each panel, you'll notice subtle resize handles that allow you to adjust panel widths:

Finding the Resize Handles

Look for thin vertical lines with small dots between panels. These are your resize controls:

  • Between left and center panels: Adjust navigation vs. content space
  • Between center and right panels: Balance content editing and detail views

How to Resize

Move your cursor over a resize handle
Watch for the cursor to change to a resize icon
Click and drag left or right to adjust panel width
Release to set the new panel sizes

As you drag, you'll see the panels resize in real-time, giving you immediate feedback on how the new layout will look.

Resize Limitations

The system includes intelligent constraints to ensure your interface remains functional:

Minimum Widths

  • Navigation panel: Maintains minimum width to display menu items clearly
  • Content panel: Preserves enough space for editing and viewing content
  • Details panel: Keeps sufficient width for form fields and information display
Smart Constraints The system prevents you from making panels too narrow to be functional. If you try to resize beyond practical limits, the panels will stop at their minimum usable width.

Screen Edge Detection

The resize system is aware of your browser window boundaries:

  • Panels won't resize beyond the visible screen area
  • Automatic adjustments maintain proper proportions
  • All content remains accessible regardless of panel sizes

Collapsing Panels

For maximum workspace efficiency, you can completely hide panels when not needed:

Panel Collapse Features

  • Temporary hiding: Collapse panels to maximize content editing space
  • Quick restoration: Easily expand panels when you need them again
  • Automatic adjustment: Remaining panels expand to fill available space
  • Context awareness: The system remembers which panels you prefer collapsed
Workspace Optimization Use panel collapsing when you need maximum space for content editing, then restore the full layout when you need access to navigation or detailed settings.

Automatic Screen Adaptation

The panel system intelligently responds to different screen sizes and orientations:

Dynamic Adjustments

  • Window resizing: Panels automatically adjust when you resize your browser
  • Proportion maintenance: Relative panel sizes are preserved during screen changes
  • Content protection: Essential interface elements remain visible at all sizes
  • Smooth transitions: Size changes happen gradually for better visual experience

Screen Size Optimization

The system provides different experiences based on available space:

  • Large screens: Full three-panel layout with generous spacing
  • Medium screens: Proportionally adjusted panels maintaining functionality
  • Smaller screens: Adaptive layout that prioritizes essential functions

Remembering Your Layout

Your panel size preferences are automatically saved and restored:

Session Memory

  • Automatic saving: Panel sizes are saved as you adjust them
  • Session restoration: Your preferred layout loads when you return
  • Cross-browser consistency: Settings persist across different browser sessions
  • Workflow continuity: Pick up where you left off without reconfiguring
Convenience Feature Once you find a panel configuration that works for your workflow, you won't need to readjust it every time you log in. The system remembers your preferences automatically.

Effective Layout Strategies

Consider these approaches for different types of work:

Content-Focused Layout

  • Expand center panel: Give maximum space to content editing
  • Minimize side panels: Reduce navigation and details to essentials
  • Quick access: Keep navigation visible but compact

Configuration-Heavy Layout

  • Expand right panel: Provide ample space for settings and options
  • Balanced center: Maintain reasonable content viewing area
  • Accessible navigation: Keep menu items clearly visible

Navigation-Intensive Layout

  • Wider left panel: Display more navigation items without scrolling
  • Balanced workspace: Maintain good proportion between content and details
  • Quick switching: Optimize for frequent menu usage
Workflow Tip Experiment with different panel configurations for various tasks. You might prefer one layout for writing content and another for managing settings or user accounts.
