Personal Account Management This section covers managing your own user profile. Administrators and staff have additional user management capabilities covered in the User Management documentation.

Your user profile contains your personal account information and security settings. You can update your display name, contact information, and password while maintaining your account security.

Accessing Your Profile

Your user profile is accessible through the Accounts section of the dashboard navigation.

Click on Accounts in the left navigation panel
Select Users from the expanded menu
Your profile information will appear in the main content area
User Experience Regular users see a simplified interface focused on personal account management, unlike administrators who see the full user management table.

Look for the eye icon on the right side of each password field
Click the eye icon to show the password as plain text
Click again to hide the password
Verification Helper Use the visibility toggle to double-check your new password before saving, especially for complex passwords with special characters.

Password Security Guidelines

Iluvana CMS includes a real-time password strength indicator to help you create secure passwords.

Password Requirements

  • Minimum 6 characters in length
  • Must match exactly in both password fields
  • Cannot be empty or contain only spaces

Strength Indicator Levels

As you type your password, a colored bar shows the security strength:

  • Weak (Red) - Meets minimum requirements but easily guessed
  • Fair (Yellow) - Moderate security with some complexity
  • Good (Light Green) - Strong security with mixed character types
  • Strong (Blue) - Excellent security with high complexity

Creating Strong Passwords

To achieve higher security ratings, include a mix of:

  • Uppercase letters (A-Z)
  • Lowercase letters (a-z)
  • Numbers (0-9)
  • Special characters (!@#$%^&*)
  • Longer length (12+ characters recommended)
Security Best Practices Avoid using personal information, common words, or patterns in your passwords. Consider using a password manager to generate and store complex passwords.

Account Information Display

Your profile displays several pieces of information that help you understand your account status and activity.

Account Timestamps

  • Created - Shows when your account was first set up
  • Last Login - Displays your most recent successful login
  • Last Seen - Shows your last recorded activity in the system

Understanding Your User Level

Your user level determines what features and areas of the system you can access:

  • User - Can manage your own profile and perform basic tasks
  • Staff - Can create content and manage some user accounts
  • Admin - Has full system access including user management and settings
Need More Access? If you need additional permissions to perform your role, contact a system administrator to discuss upgrading your user level.
