User Profile
Your user profile contains your personal account information and security settings. You can update your display name, contact information, and password while maintaining your account security.
Accessing Your Profile
Your user profile is accessible through the Accounts section of the dashboard navigation.
Profile Information
Your profile displays both editable information that you can modify and read-only details managed by system administrators.
Information You Can Edit
- Name - Your display name shown throughout the system
- Username - Your login username (must be unique)
- Email - Your contact email address (must be unique and valid)
- Password - Your login password
Read-Only Information
- User Level - Your permission level (set by administrators)
- Account Status - Whether your account is active (controlled by administrators)
- Account Created - When your account was originally created
- Last Login - Your most recent login time
- Last Seen - Your last recorded system activity
Updating Personal Information
You can modify your display name, username, and email address to keep your profile current.
Field Requirements
- Name - Required field, can contain letters, numbers, and spaces
- Username - Required and must be unique across all users
- Email - Must be a valid email format and unique in the system
Changing Your Password
Regular password updates help maintain account security. You can change your password at any time through your profile.
Password Visibility Toggle
Each password field includes an eye icon that allows you to toggle between hidden and visible text. This helps you verify you've typed your new password correctly.
Password Security Guidelines
Iluvana CMS includes a real-time password strength indicator to help you create secure passwords.
Password Requirements
- Minimum 6 characters in length
- Must match exactly in both password fields
- Cannot be empty or contain only spaces
Strength Indicator Levels
As you type your password, a colored bar shows the security strength:
- Weak (Red) - Meets minimum requirements but easily guessed
- Fair (Yellow) - Moderate security with some complexity
- Good (Light Green) - Strong security with mixed character types
- Strong (Blue) - Excellent security with high complexity
Creating Strong Passwords
To achieve higher security ratings, include a mix of:
- Uppercase letters (A-Z)
- Lowercase letters (a-z)
- Numbers (0-9)
- Special characters (!@#$%^&*)
- Longer length (12+ characters recommended)
Account Information Display
Your profile displays several pieces of information that help you understand your account status and activity.
Account Timestamps
- Created - Shows when your account was first set up
- Last Login - Displays your most recent successful login
- Last Seen - Shows your last recorded activity in the system
Understanding Your User Level
Your user level determines what features and areas of the system you can access:
- User - Can manage your own profile and perform basic tasks
- Staff - Can create content and manage some user accounts
- Admin - Has full system access including user management and settings
Saving Changes
All profile modifications require explicit saving to take effect. The system provides clear feedback about the save status.
Save Process
Common Save Errors
- Username already exists - Choose a different username
- Email already exists - Use a different email address
- Invalid email format - Check for typos in the email address
- Passwords do not match - Ensure both password fields are identical
- Password too short - Use at least 6 characters
Troubleshooting Profile Issues
If you encounter problems with your profile or account access, here are common solutions.
Cannot Save Changes
- Check that all required fields are filled in
- Verify your username and email are unique
- Ensure password fields match exactly
- Try refreshing the page and attempting the save again
Forgot Password
If you can't remember your current password, you'll need administrator assistance to reset it. Contact your system administrator with your username or email address.
Account Locked or Deactivated
If you cannot log in, your account may have been deactivated. Contact an administrator to reactivate your account and verify your current permissions.
